I just thought I’d share my progress for Task One (now that I have wrapped my head around it… hopefully!)
Below are my selected content descriptors from the Australian Curriculum Technology Strand (ACARA, 2015) and my resource ideas.
Digital Technology:
Year 3 & 4
- Work with others to plan the creation and communication of ideas and information safely, applying agreed ethical and social protocols (ACARA, 2015)
Resource: An online safety WebQuest
Design & Technologies:
Year 5 & 6:
- Investigate how people in design and technologies occupations address competing considerations, including sustainability in the design of products, services and environments for current and future use
Elaboration
- Reflecting on the importance of aesthetics, function and sustainability in product design, for example a textile product that gives protection and is appealing; a motor that moves a vehicle and uses a sustainable power source (ACARA, 2015)
Resource: YouTube Video Exploring Product Design’s elements and considerations including aesthetics, function, sustainability, context and the design process. (I could not find anything remotely useful for student use when originally looking – hence I decided to make my own 🙂 )
